What next for Social Media? An event by Havas Media Social and ISBA

Earlier this year, Havas Media Social and the Incorporated Society of British Advertisers (ISBA) collaborated on a research project to investigate the genuine opinions of brands in the UK towards social media, and how the client/agency relationship has evolved to suit the rapid pace of change.

On Wednesday 21st September they hosted an exclusive event to showcase the results, and illustrate the extent that social media is being integrated into advertisers’ businesses.

Guest speakers from American Express, Peer Index and Google and a panel featuring EDF Energy, COI, Lloyds TSB and Hewlett Packard discussed the following questions:

  • Is social media considered a long-term commitment or is it best for short bursts of campaign activity?
  • Where should social media sit within organisations?
  • Are more brands investing in dedicated social resource in-house?
  • What do clients need from their agencies in social media, and what should agencies be doing to keep up?
  • What does the future hold for consumers, creativity and innovation?
